Allissa Hern
Agricultural Technician
Allissa graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s of Science majoring in Wildlife Management and minoring in Sustainable Natural Resource Recreation Management. She has spent time working seasonally in a variety of roles including municipal waste water chemistry, thinning sugarbeets, a monarch butterfly research lab, and with the US Fish and Wildlife Service’s sea lamprey control program. Most recently she is coming to us from another conservation district after 4 years with the Michigan On-Farm Produce Safety Program where she worked with specialty crop farmers. In her free time, she can be found at home with her pets, gardening, landscaping, and crocheting. She’ll work up the courage to not be a homebody if it includes traveling with her husband, visiting family and friends, going fishing, nature photography, and more. Allissa is excited to use her previous experience to continue connecting with farmers as a resource to help them help their land through the Conservation Technical Assistance Program.
