When not on the farm, Bruce is active in several conservation organizations including the Montcalm Conservation District Board where he has served as Chairman since 2002. He is also a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, the Quality Deer Management Alliance and the Mid-Michigan United Sportsmen Alliance. In 2019 Bruce was named a Master Farmer.
