Sun: Partial, Soil: All Types, Moisture: Moist, Height: 2 - 4 ft
Bottlebrush grass is a perennial grass that produces seedheads in summer and fall that resemble a bottlebrush. This cool-season grass goes dormant when summer heat is at its peak. Bottlebrush grass can be found in dry, shady woodlands. Bottlebrush grass is an incredibly hardy plant, as it is tolerant of drought, erosion and pollution. It can also grow near black walnut. Bottlebrush grass attracts small mammals and birds, who eat its seeds.
