Swamp white oak is a medium-sized deciduous tree in the beech family that can live up to 300 years. Swamp white oak leaves have a silvery underside and rounded edges with shallow lobes. Despite growing best in swampy areas, swamp white oak is drought and heat tolerant. Several moth and butterfly species depend on swamp white oak as a larval host, and a variety of wildlife feed on its acorns.
