Lauren Hirschfield
Lauren graduated from Oakland University in Rochester, MI with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and a specialization in Sustainability and Resource Management. Since graduating, she has worked with Historic Mill Creek in Mackinaw City and with the John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids on a variety of conservation related projects from giving naturalist talks and nature tours to conducting wildlife surveys and community science programs. Lauren is passionate about improving community access to and involvement in conservation, and is excited to begin working with the residents of Montcalm County. In her spare time, she enjoys taking leisurely nature walks to watch birds and log species on iNaturalist (so it may take her an hour to walk a mile). She also enjoys cozy reading time and playing ukulele.
