Thornless honeylocust is a hardy, deciduous tree in the legume family that produces greenish yellow flowers in the spring and brown seedpods in the fall. Thornless honeylocust is tolerant of drought, wind, heat, salt and flooding. It can grow in nutrient poor, compacted soil and can grow near black walnut. It is also somewhat deer resistant. Thornless honeylocust wood has often been used to make furniture, fence posts, tools and fuel.
