Smooth blue aster is a perennial forb in the daisy family with thick, stout leaves and pale blue ray flowers with yellow disks that bloom in late summer and fall. Smooth blue aster attracts native bees and butterflies for pollination. It is also generally considered deer-resistant and fast-growing, making it the perfect choice to fill in gardens.
